MOU Signing Ceremony to Solve the Problem of Endangered Irrawaddy dolphin in The Songkhla Lake Area


On Monday 27th November 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the Ministry of Transport, the Deputy Director General of the Fisheries Department, along with the Director of the Fisheries Development Policy and Planning Division participated and signed in the "Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Conservation and Restoration of Natural Resources and the Environment To solve the problem of the near extinction of the Irrawaddy dolphin in the Songkhla Lake area between 4 agencies.



With the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment acting as Director General of the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Director General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Deputy Secretary-General of the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning and Deputy Director-General of the Fisheries Department joined in signing.


The objective of this agreement is to integrate cooperation between agencies to be clear, concrete, and practical in conserving and restoring the natural resources and environment in the Songkhla Lake area in order to solve the endangered problem of the Irrawaddy dolphin in the Songkhla Lake area in a sustainable way.
