Take a look at the blue world under the sea Koh Phangan - Koh Samui

On August 19th, 2022, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources by Marine and Coastal Resources Research Center, Central Gulf of Thailand. Explore the status of coral reefs and reef life. Under the study on the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on marine ecosystems in 2 areas, Katen Island on the east side, Koh Samui and Mae Haad Bay, Koh Phangan, Surat Thani Province by scuba diving Line-Intercept Transect The results of the survey found that Sea water has a depth of 5-10 meters, water temperature about 29 degrees Celsius, underwater visibility 5-8 meters.

The predominant coral groups are Porites lutea coral, Goniopora spp., Lobophyllia hemprichii coral, Goniastrea pectinata coral, Physogyra lichtensteini coral, Symphyllia recta coral and Montipora aequituberculata coral. Common coral diseases include coral colony pigment abnormalities, such as pink spots on Porites lutea corals. Coral reef fish are Neopomacentrus anabatoides, Abudefduf sexfasciatus, Cheilodipterus artus, Caesio cuning, Chaetodon octofasciatus, Halichoeres argus, and Siganus javus. The most common reef species are Diadema setosum, Xestosaria testosaria, Phyllidia elegans and garbage was left in the coral reefs, there was not a lot of garbage, most of them found garbage from fishing activities such as seine and rope, and already collected.
