On February 20, 2025, the Thai Sustainable Fisheries Roundtable (TSFR) working group met with the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries to report on the progress of the project “Guidelines for the Development of Trawl Fisheries in the Gulf of Thailand towards Sustainability according to International Standards (Fishery Improvement Project: FIP)”. They also requested cooperation in providing relevant data from the Department of Fisheries to carry out the project in 2025. A resolution was made to establish a joint working group, with Mr. Suwat Wongsuwat, Deputy Director-General, appointed as chairman. Representatives from 8 associations in the TSFR working group and relevant officials from the Department of Fisheries were also appointed as members of the working group.
The Working Group Appointment Order was issued by the Department of Fisheries.
